Judicial assistance requests include notifications and requests to represent foreign judicial authorities locally.
  • Notifications
Pursuant to article (13) of the Civil Procedures Law No. (24) of 1988 and it amendments, if the person required to be notified resides in a foreign country and has a known address, the papers are submitted to the Ministry of Justice to handle serving of the notice through diplomatic channels via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, unless stated otherwise under other article.
 
The Ministry assumes that same role in the event that a request was received from a foreign country or court to notify a citizen residing in Jordan, accounting for bilateral and international agreements signed in this regard.
 
Procedures for Service Attainment
Receipt by the Ministry of Justice of an official notification request from regular courts in Jordan, or from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to execute a request issued by a judicial authority in a foreign country.
 
Obtaining a decision from the competent authority to serve the notice in accordance with the mechanism set forth in the provisions of the law.
 
Required Documents
1 - Official letter issued by the relevant court in the Kingdom, or the concerned entity abroad, explicitly requesting the serving of notice. 
2 -  An Informing form to notify the concerned person indicating the entity of issuance, the type of document or judicial paper to be served, the full name of the person to be notified, his / her address and the name and address of the person's legal representative (if any).
